Murphy, who along with Williams previously studied organics identified by Perseverance, was not involved in the new research. > > “To appropriately probe the biosignature question, these samples require high-resolution and high-sensitivity analyses in terrestrial labs, which can be facilitated by the return of these samples to Earth,” Murphy said. > >
